For the benefit of WaterAid – dedicated to providing water and sanitation to the world’s poorest people - and eager revellers, the Glastonbury Festival Dance Tent has organised an auction of signed memorabilia. All of this year’s artists, and some from previous years, have signed various items to be auctioned online. Fat Boy Slim and Sister Sledge are amongst those who’ve been happy to sign, and there’s also a Glastonbury T-shirt which has been signed by Sir Paul McCartney.
Mike Qualter, responsible for organising most of the items in the auction, says:
“I work with a large range of different charities and consider WaterAid to be one of the best - doing really effective work where it’s needed most. I’m thrilled to be able to offer such an exciting way of raising money for WaterAid, building ever stronger links with the charity and Glastonbury Festival”.
All the money from this auction will go straight to WaterAid. Just £15 enables WaterAid to provide a lasting supply of clean water and safe toilets.
“There are over 2.4 billion people in the world who need this help, and in a world where we can help, we should, so we will! “, continues Mike.
The opportunity to submit an offer for this t-shirt will close at noon on Saturday 3rd July. The person who has made the highest offer will be contacted, if the offer holds good that person will be the lucky purchaser. If bidders can’t be contacted within four hours, the item will go to the next highest offer on the list. Winners will be listed on the website – kindly provided at no charge - by John McHugh of QmediaStream.
