Licence Application Pending

01 Dec 2004

On October 20th Glastonbury Festival lodged an application for a Public Entertainment Licence to hold a festival on the 24th, 25th and 26th June 2005 at Worthy Farm, Pilton. The licence application will be considered by Mendip District Council at a meeting of members at 6pm on Monday 17th January 2005. Please note this has been rescheduled from the 6th December for administrative reasons.

Tickets for Glastonbury Festival 2005 are currently on offer on some websites. Any company currently offering tickets are not official outlets and will not receive an allocation of tickets from the Festival. While it is understandable that some people who experienced problems in getting tickets in 2004 may look to all possible avenues to get tickets for 2005, the Festival would strongly advise against any premature attempt to purchase tickets. To be quite clear, the Festival will not finalise decisions on pricing, on ticket distribution, on ID checks or on the form the ticket will take itself, until the application is successful.

So please don’t go there. Once any decisions about ticketing are made they will be posted on this website – and it could well be early in the New Year before we ourselves are clear about the most secure and fairest way forward!
