Glastonbury Festival Pays Tribute to John Peel


John Peel 1939 - 2004.

“The death of John Peel on Tuesday was a terrible blow to the whole of the music industry.

Here at Glastonbury he held together the broadcasting for TV and radio for about 20 years, and in honour and respect for his reputation we have decided to rename the New Bands Tent the John Peel Stage from now on.

This tribute will no doubt be well received by his wife and family and the millions of Glastonbury followers who were so fond of him.”
