Bowling For Glastonbury!

06 Jun 2003

Emily Eavis, Michael Eavis, Sheelagh Allen, Mark Cann and many other celebrities packed the skittles alley of Worthy Farm’s very own 'local', the Crown at Pilton, last week for a pre-Festival open hand skittles match.

Probably the last chance for relaxation in the days before 'build-up' begins in earnest, a very raucous evening of sport also raised an extremely healthy £500 for Oxfam’s 'Make Trade Fair' campaign, which will also be featured during the Festival itself.

Meanwhile in the short and perfectly groomed alley, top honours in Somerset’s own answer to 'Bowling For Columbine' went to Sheelagh, with a winning 'hand' of 16.

Many thanks to all the event's sponsors, who included Guardian Unlimited, Capitalize, E4, Hilary White, Lou Harding and Gaymers Olde English Cider (!). We think...
