Gates and Heavens Open

23 Jun 2004

In the midst of a tennis-seasonal downpour, the gates of Glastonury Festival 2004 opened to the world at 10am this morning.

Intrepid wellied-up campers were to be seen making their way through lagoons of mud. Some sang in the rain as the Festival - not to mention the heavens - opened; some erected their tents and scurried inside proclaiming that they were "not coming out" until the weather improved.

Either way, the mood was optimistic - the new arrivals seemingly unanimous in the belief that 'this is Glastonbury, of the course the weather will improve!'

So the wait is over. It's starting! Let's hope those optimistic mini-Michael Fishes are all right...
