Imagine That.....

15 Jun 2004

Rumours are flying from the mill that geriatric rock thing Paul (Macca) McCartney has a sneaky little trick up his sleeve for for his Saturday night headline performance on The Pyramid Stage.

It is alleged that the left handed bassist and one time member of 60's 'supergroup' The Beatles plans to play an unplugged version of bandmate John Lennon's bling-bling hip hop anthem 'Imagine'.

Reactions to this news ranged from an indifferent shrug to a full on angina attack during today's lunchtime poll conducted outside Lidl in Shepton Mallet, but the overall opinion was that it wasn't a very good idea. Andy Orletto from Yeovil, when asked for comment replied "I don't think it's a very good idea."

Additionally, in an unprecedented festival gesture we understand it has been requested that music cease on the other stages for the duration of this 'moment/episode/ordeal' (delete as applicable), so that everybody may ponder their own existence before hot-footing it over to the Dance Tent to catch what's left of Sister Sledge.

However, our personal opinion (for what it's worth) is that people are being a bit cruel because we love Paul McCartney and will be there to enjoy his performance in it's entirety.

Hope he plays the Frog Song....

It is unlikely that >Stalker will ever be on the McCartney/Mills xmas card list.
