Glastonbury’s not just about the record company acts y’know...
18 Jun 2004Its the Sunday morning after the big Saturday night out the day before: On any normal weekend you may well turn to a fry-up, hair of the dog, or even remain in bed in a peaceful yet comatosed state until the daylight breaking becomes acceptable to your weary eyes. Then the realisation that you’re at Glastonbury, where all manner of wonders and delights await you and where you don’t want to miss a minute of the action.
On the Sunday morning of Glastonbury 2004, if you’ve had a particularly tiring evening the night before, or even if you haven’t, then can we suggest you get yourselves along to the front of the Other Stage by 11am where the Avalonian Free State Choir will be showcasing their sounds to the festival in a bid to soothe even the worst of hangovers. (Or whatever else you may be recovering from). With everything from Bulgarian harmonies to the more recognisable material by Paul Simon, the Avalonian Free State Choir is a truly eclectic mix of people whose combined Glastonbury experience is second to none! (Collectively, they’ve spent hundreds of years at the festival, and if anyone else can better that amount, then GlastonburyFestivals.co.uk would love to hear from you!)
The Choir will be on the Other Stage, Sunday morning at 11am and if you don’t happen to catch them then and you’re near the Little Massive stage area later in the day, you can see them perform live again at 6:30pm. (Or catch them when they do a special preview gig at 6:30pm on the Friday evening at Croissant Neuf).
