We'll whether the weather whatever the... oh, bugger.
29 Jun 2003I'm sunburnt. The top of my scalp is pink, and very, very sore. This year's weather has been absolutely fantastic so far in, but reports are reaching us of rain coming from the south of here. There's some dark clouds creeping ominously in the distance over Pennard Hill and a lot of worried glances cast in that direction.
My jacket is in my bag in some lockup or other and I'm contemplating getting it out, just in case. My tent is the size of the Pyramid Stage and if I end up having to take it down wet I'll not be pleased.
On the whole we've been very lucky and I doubt many will even remember Thursday's rain by now. It's more likely instead that this year's festival will be catapulted straight into the 'good year' chapter of the Glastonbury history book.
Ed Webster, 28, of Salisbury was pleased with it anyway, "I'm here every year it's on and this year has been just ideal, not too hot and the odd breeze", he slurringly enthuses, "I've got sunburn on my arse where I fell asleep in the Theatre field and my mates pulled me kacks down and left me to it but I don't mind. That's what this place is all about, isn't it?"
I want you to know though, that if it rains I'm going to be straight round Andrew from MetCheck.Com's house with my muddy tent and will be demanding he puts it in his washing machine, pronto.
I suggest you do the same. Stand by for that address....
