World Premiere of 'The Night London Burned'
The Left Field Stage are proud to host the world premiere screening of 'The Last Night London Burned' on Friday 27th June. This 35-minute film by Firefighter/Filmmaker Alan Miles, documents the last live performance of Joe Strummer & Mick Jones in November 2002, before Joe's untimely death the following month.
The now legendary Acton Town Hall show was a benefit gig for the striking Firefighters, and continued the great Clash tradition of supporting public sector workers; as Joe put it on the night, "Time to get sensible and pay people decent money for doing essential things."
This extraordinary film contains exclusive interviews, as well as footage of the duo performing Bank Robber, White Riot and London's Burning, at what Mick described as an "old style Clash gig." 'The Last Night London Burned' kicks off the Joe Strummer tribute night at The Left Field Stage, hosted by Don Letts & Dan Donovan (The Dub Cartel).
In 2003, The Left Field Stage returns to Glastonbury bigger, better and angrier than ever! Further details on the only area at the festival where politics and culture collide will be announced at the end of May or check out www.leftfield.coop
