Syrcas Circus
29 Jun 2003Syrcas Circus from North Wales is a bi-lingual circus skills and performance company operating in the circus skills tent in the Kidz Field. James Carpenter and his colleagues hail from Bangor and travel nationally running skills workshops that culminate in live performances open to the public. They have been together for about 6 years and have a core group of 8 who run outreach programmes and recruit 30 or so performers from each community they visit, training them up for approximately 3 days before they go live! Here at the festival they are planning a similar thing with their regular visitors. They teach juggling, plate spinning, Diablo and more, encouraging their young and old pupils by a display of endless patience. Hopefully, by Sunday they might have a full-blown show. Meanwhile here are James (right) and Nano complete with clubs and smiles. You can reach them at syrcas-circus-fsnet.co.uk And for those who do not speak Welsh syrcas is how the Welsh say it.
