Sunday Bands
01 Jun 2003Le Cod Afrique were formed in 1998 and soon became a major part of the
thriving Midlands dance scene, bridging the gap between traditional and
modern dance music. Since then, the band have become firm favourites on the
festival scene.
Following on the success of last year's CD 'Mello' (as featured on Radio 3
Late Junction) the band's new release 'Maria's Cafe' is a unique mix of
Global and Urban sounds.
Featuring driving hurdy-gurdy, wild African rhythms and gypsy bellydance,
live performances are always highly charged.
"This band are brilliant, no doubt about it...music which will appeal to all
people, lovers of world music, folk or clubbers" (AstroZombie Magazine)
