 Badmarsh & Shri

Ominous looking clouds were gathering as one of the UK's finest Anglo-Asian crossover dance band's Badarsh & Shri limbered up for a veritable tour de force. Joined by arch, and superfast rapper UK Apache this band are about as genre blind as one could ever hope to find at Glastonbury.
With Michelle Greaves on drums and DJ Badmarsh behind him Shri is an incredible all round front man, part human tabla, part bass monster - he's also and accomplished flautist. Chopping between his armory of sounds, from blissful high flute notes, to a drum n bass style tabla solo, Shri is a jack of all trades and master also! Signs' made an early appearance, UK Apache swapping to a soulful lilt for this brooding dramatic number.
Shri's tabla spot grabbed the crowd's attention with its intricate nuances, but it's Michelle that also gets a look in, Shri soon grabbing his bass. As they begin their showdown however Michelle's bass pedal breaks and it's a spontaneous bass solo that's required to fill the repair time needed
Combining an array of tabla rhythms with the a thumping style of thumb-funk, Shri took no prisoners in an act of glorious bass heroism. Finishing with UK Apache once more back on the mike this was one of the Jazz World's finest additions - one that mesmerized the crowd but got them dancing too, good work fellahs.
