Traders must only sell goods specified in their application. Stalls are priced on the basis of the products that the trader states they are going to sell. Any changes to the application form must be made in writing to the Festival Office at least two weeks prior to the start of the festival.
|
|
Concessions are sold separately for alcohol, cigarettes, ice cream, burgers, bottled water, energy drinks, candle flares, hot caramelised nuts and star lights. Should traders other than the concession holder bring any of these products on site they will be seized. A charge may be made for storage of any prohibited materials.
|
|
Sub-contracting of stalls, or parts of stalls, by traders is not permitted.
|
|
Payment for stalls must be made before 1" April 2000 to Glastonbury Festivals Ltd, 28 Northload Street, Glastonbury, Somerset BA6 9JJ. Non-payment by that time will result in the site being reallocated.
|
|
Traders must be at their site by 7p.m. on Tuesday 20th June, and be ready to trade by first thing on Wednesday 21st, when the public start to come on site. The traders gate will open at 8.00am on Sunday 18th June. The Management reserves the right to reallocate stalls if essential for operational reasons or if traders arrive late.
|
|
Security. Traders must keep their stalls in place, linked to their neighbours, until dawn on the Monday morning after performances have finished to sustain the security of the markets.
|
|
Approved sound systems in stalls must adhere to environmental health or licence sound level conditions. Traders must respond to any request to modify sound levels from Site Management, Security or Environmental Health Officers. Should a trader bring on site a sound system that has not been included in their application and approved in writing prior to the festival, it will be confiscated.
|
|
Traders are expected to use the wholesale facility on the site whenever possible, to minimise the amount of traffic having access to and egress from the site. Traders will be held responsible for any persons coming on site to deliver to or service their stall.
|
|
Bottled Gas. Traders are only allowed to bring one day's supply of bottled gas on site. This is a condition specified by Mendip District Council. Thereafter they can purchase from the wholesaler on site. All gas equipment in catering units must have current safety certification. Safety precautions regarding storage of bottled gas, as outlined in the Health and Safety booklet, must be followed.

Milk is available on site from wholesalers. The Environmental Health Office insists that traders must not bring more than one day's supply of pasteurised milk on site as it can quickly become a serious health risk.
|
|
Food traders must use compostable, biodegradable disposables. A wholesaler providing appropriate disposables is on site for traders during the event. Should a trader bring on site, or use, polystyrene or other environmentally unfriendly disposables, they will not be permitted to continue trading.
|
|
Electricity for markets traders will be provided by Showpower-Templine Ltd. Generators are not permitted on site for health, safety and noise reasons. Traders in the main markets must have electric light for safety and security. Traders who pull more power than ordered and cause the circuit to go down will be disconnected. All electrical equipment on site must have been tested and have a current safety certificate.

Waste water must he put in the Eurocarts provided and not poured on the ground. The digging of sumps is prohibited for reasons of pollution. Both the Environment Agency and Mendip District Council Environmental Health Officers will check to see how traders dispose of waste water/liquid. Traders must ensure taps are not left running.
|
|
Rubbish. Traders are responsible for keeping both the 10 metre area in front of their stalls as well as their back of market space tidy and free of rubbish. Traders are also responsible for leaving their site as they found it. All rubbish must be put into the appropriate skips or waste fluid containers. Hired refrigerators must be emptied out before the trader leaves site. Traders leaving any rubbish, equipment or structures will be charged for the cost of clearing their site and disposing of the rubbish - and may not be invited to trade at future festivals.

Unauthorised Glastonbury Festival logos on any goods - such as T shirts, baseball caps and craft goods - and any bootleg goods - will be confiscated.
|
|
Items not permitted on site. Glass, body piercing equipment, generators, lasers and weapons or potential weapons are not permitted on site for safety reasons and will be confiscated. Glass items banned include alcohol containers - even small quantities of alcohol for personal consumption. Traders must co-operate fully with Festival Security in any search of vehicles or stalls.

Any animals brought on site will be put in kennels and the owners charged for their keep. This is a licence condition.
|
|
No motor cycles are allowed on site. Vehicle movements must be kept to a minimum - even with vehicles that have mobile passes. Vehicles being used in an irresponsible or uncooperative way, without relevant passes or in inappropriate areas will be towed off-site at the owners expense.
|
|
There is a 10 mph speed limit on site at all times.
|
|
Off road vehicles. Any traders wishing to bring either three or four wheel all terrain vehicles on site must first seek permission from the Festival Office. Any such vehicles must be suitably insured.
|
|
All vehicles are brought on site at their owners' risk. Glastonbury Festival Ltd cannot accept any responsibility for any loss or damage that may occur during the festival.
|
|
Deliveries. Traders are responsible for arranging with market managers that delivery vehicles have all necessary paperwork and passes prior to arriving at Blue Gate 2. Traders are also responsible for ensuring that delivery firms understand they come on site at their own risk and that Glastonbury Festival Ltd will not accept responsibility for any claims from delivery drivers/firms.

Traders are responsible for ensuring that they and their staff adhere to the published pass system. The Festival cannot accept any responsibility if traders do not adhere to the system, or lose passes. Trading staff without passes will not be admitted to the festival. Vehicle passes are non-transferable and must not be switched to another vehicle.
|
|
Traders must comply with the Health, Safety and Hygiene requirements of Mendip District Council as outlined in the booklets sent out with the offer of their site. Traders are not permitted to start trading until they have been given the go ahead by their Market Manager, following a Health and Safety Inspection.
|
|
Traders are not allowed to bring straw on site. This is a licence condition emanating from Home Office Guidelines. In exceptional conditions, Glastonbury Festival Ltd may be permitted straw on site by Mendip District Council with the Fire Officer's approval. Even with that approval, under no circumstances can traders have straw inside their stalls - irrespective of the weather conditions.

Employers' Liability and Public Liability Insurance must be on display in stalls at all times. Likewise traders are responsible for ensuring contractors delivering to, or working on their stall, are suitably insured. Risk assessments are required in law by traders employing more than 5 people. Details are outlined in the Health and Safety booklet sent out with the offer of a site.

Official organisations. Traders are required to co-operate fully with Site management, Security, Emergency Services, Police and all official organisations on site - such as Environmental Health Officers, Fire Officers, Customs and Excise staff, the Environment Agency, Trading Standards Officers and Inland Revenue staff.
|
|
No rebates will be given to traders as a result of adverse weather conditions, nor as a result of changes in performance programmes or re-siting of acts to different venues within the Festival. Glastonbury Festivals Ltd will not accept responsibility for the level of trading during the event.
|
|
Traders are required to comply with the terms of the site licence. A copy of the Festival licence will be held at the main market office. If a trader is closed down and / or evicted from site for contravening the licence, any of these ten.ns and conditions or prescribed environment health standards, they shall not be entitled to any rebate.
